Belfast Airport - Facts & Figures


The first regular civilian flights left Belfast Airport on 13th May 1933. The route was Glasgow to Aldergrove and the flight was operated by Midland and Scottish Air Ferries.

Today, Belfast Internation Airport serves over 3.7 million passengers a year, and is the fifth largest regional air cargo centre in the UK.

It is the most technically advanced airport in Ireland, having two long runways with ILS Cat 111B equipment, to offer wide-body capacity.

Belfast Airport offers the full range of warehouse and distribution facilities, as well as ground handling services and on site ancillary services such as executive air charter, air taxi services, air ambulance, helicopter training and hire.
